Colas Rail Secures Strategic Contract to Operate & Maintain Mobile Maintenance Trains

Colas Rail UK has signed a five-year contract with Network Rail to operate and maintain its fleet of Mobile Maintenance Trains (MMT).

Built by Robel, the eight MMTs enable engineers and track workers to carry out repairs, renewals and upgrades across Britain’s 20,000 mile rail network more quickly, efficiently, and safely.

These “workshop on wheels” are designed to reduce disruption to passenger and freight services and provide a protected working environment. The fleet is strategically based across Network Rail’s delivery units throughout England.

Speaking about the new contract award, Jean-Pierre Bertrand, CEO said “This contract demonstrates Network Rail’s confidence in Colas Rail as a preferred supplier. It is a wonderful recognition of our team’s expertise, their capacity of innovation, and their operational excellence.”
