Recently, our Rugby Rail Services team dedicated a day to volunteering, collaborating alongside the Cheshire Wildlife Trust (CWT) to increase biodiversity and care for our site neighbours.
The 13 strong team were based at Wincle Grange, near the peak district as part of CWT’s ‘Trees for Climate’ scheme aimed at improving local biodiversity and reduce carbon emissions amongst other benefits.
In total the team planted roughly 1,000 trees, with the ultimate goal of the Trees for Climate scheme being 11,000 trees planted to form a shelter belt for wildlife and the local working farm.
