We are delighted to share that Colas Rail UK has been selected as one of four suppliers by Network Rail to operate and maintain the On-Track Machines used for track maintenance across Britain, covering several regions of the rail network: Wales & Western, Southern, Eastern, North West and Central.

As part of this contract, Colas Rail UK will operate and maintain 28 machines, including Tampers and Ballast Regulators, for a period of eight years.

Speaking on the success of the contract award, Colas Rail UK CEO, Jean-Pierre Bertrand said “Colas Rail UK has the largest fleet of OTMs in the country, which enables us to achieve high performance standards, with an efficiency ratio of over 99%.

“This excellence is based on the commitment and expertise of our teams, who are mobilised every day to guarantee reliable and efficient operations for our customers”

This latest success further strengthens the relationship of trust between Network Rail and Colas Rail. This follows the recent signing of a contract for the operation and maintenance of Network Rail’s fleet of grinding and milling trains.
