We are delighted to be entrusted by High Speed 2 to bring our world leading high-speed credentials to deliver the systemwide Overhead Catenary Systems (OCS) for HS2, spanning 280 miles of track capable of speeds of up to 225mph (360km/h).

Colas Rail UK will be responsible for the design, manufacture, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of the OCS using the leading-edge V360 OCS design range under licence from French SNCF.

We are thrilled to announce the launch of the fourth edition of the Colas Team Cup!

The Colas Team Cup (CTC) is an in-house international challenge organised by Colas Group and is open for all employees, with registration opening on the 3rd February. For every registration to the Colas Team Cup, €5 will be donated to the event’s partner association.

As part of the South Rail Systems Alliance (SRSA), our Old Oak Common (OOC) division delivered a five-day multidisciplinary blockade over the Christmas period.

The works were completed as part of the On Network Works programme, where our team are tasked with overhauling the railway infrastructure as part of:

  • Upgrades to make the infrastructure more resilient
  • Developments of the new eight platform High Speed 2 (HS2) conventional station
  • Infrastructure changes to mitigate disruption to passengers

Earlier this year, Colas Rail UK hosted our first ever supply chain conference centred around Social Value.

Hosted by Social Value Manager, Yamana Zedan and Safety & Sustainability Director, Paul Taylor, we welcomed our trusted supply chain to join us to learn about how we drive and capture social value initiatives at Colas Rail UK.


We were delighted to welcome back Colas Rail Group CEO, Hervé Le Joliff for a Colas Rail UK special tour

This included trips to Parkhead Viaduct and other Midland Metro Alliance sites with our Urban division along with visiting our Rugby depot to see our OTM and Freight fleet


We’re delighted to share that the construction of our Crewe training academy has been completed, providing a venue for our Freight and OTM Drivers to learn the new European Rail Train Management System (ERTMS).

The centre is furnished with state-of-the-art Freight & OTM Simulators, multiple meeting rooms, welfare facilities and maintainer training and fault-finding simulator.

The ERTMS academy will also serve as a hub for ERTMS project teams and host training courses for external providers.
 

The main function of the Crewe training centre is opening to prepare individual with the necessary skills and knowledge so they can prepare to perform their tasks while operating on ERTMS.


Working in collaboration with Network Rail, DR73948 was named after recently retired Route Director, James Dean for his dedication, commitment and passion for the UK rail industry.

Unveiling the new name plate and receiving a copy by Andrew Haines witnessed by friends and colleagues, James will always be part of the UK Railways.
